"We have now been in our new home one week, which Murphy Resources built for us. I did not know if your team could get us into our new home before the kids started school, but you did it. This was a major goal that your company achieved and we do appreciate it.
When my wife and I started looking at homes your houses seemed to stand out from the other builders. The first time we walked in one of your homes we met Greg Grunewald. He seemed to make us feel comfortable from the start.
When we started the design phase, Laura Grunewald was very helpful in going over every detail with my wife, and giving her suggestions when we asked, which was quite often. This helped keep the changes to a minimum. And when we started talking to Steve Murphy and Greg Grunewald about price, of course it came in higher than we wanted but the team at Murphy Resources worked with us and gave us all kinds of options to bring the price down to where we needed it to be.
I am in the construction business and I almost always get at least two or more prices on work or materials. But after getting a list of references and checking it out, we decided to not even get a second price because we felt good about working with Murphy Resources.
During the signing of the contract, Steve told me that there would most likely come a time during the building process that we would get frustrated. He advised us to not let it fester and to just pick up the phone and call him. About a month ago, he was correct. I took his advice and called and we had the issue resolved in no time.
If I had to pick two words to describe Murphy Resources it would be honesty and quality, in that order. I didn't really know if I could ever trust a builder after being in the construction business for over twenty years. There were several times that Greg could have made more profit on the house that he was building for us, but he was totally honest with us.
There are so many decisions to make while building a home. Murphy seemed to give us options and head off problems before they happened. I know you have used some of the same subs for many years and it shows. Because they have come to know the quality that you expect of them.
I am quite sure that Murphy Resources will be around for many years to come. Because it seems to me that they are one of the premier homebuilders in the Tulsa area. If we ever build again you can bet you will be our first call.
