To anyone considering using Murphy Resources to build their home:
I was not asked to write this letter. It was my idea. I just wanted to share with other what an incredibly positive experience we had using Murphy Resources (MR) to build our dream home. As I sit in my study this morning and look around, I have to say that our house looks as great now as the day we moved in almost two years ago.
We probably toured 200-300 houses over the course of a few years as we narrowed our choices on a builder. MR was by no means the cheapest choice we could have made for a builder. However, the value we received from them far exceeded the amount we ultimately paid for our home. They met or exceeded our expectations in virtually every area.
From the beginning stages, Steve laid out the process in tremendous detail, given us written deadlines on when decisions had to be made so we were never surprised or put "under the gun" to make important chosen hastily. Since this was the first home we had ever built, Steve and Brian had to spend extra time answering questions. I had both of their cell phone numbers in my speed dial and I called on them A LOT. They always made me feel like I was their most important client, like mine was the only project they had going on at that time. If unavailable to talk to me at that moment, they always returned calls in a timely manner (a pet peeve of mine). They never made excuses.
They never accepted anything less than the best from themselves or any of their subcontractors on our project. Every time we came out to the site and met with anyone, we were always treated in a professional and courteous manner. Every subcontractor they used seems to take special pride in making our home exceptional. The tile work is incredible. The wood floors were liad painstakingly and then finished with a durable cover (since we have small children). There is still not a scratch on them. Our painters did an amazing job. Terri, the interior decorator, came up with color schemes and suggestions on materials that have created a handsome, impressive, yet warm environment. I have been in million dollar homes that do not surpass the quality of construction we now enjoy.
I have many friends who complain that once they moved in and their builder got his check, it was virtually impossible to get them back out for warranty work. Nothing could be further from the truth for MR. After we moved in, they did not forget about us.
As fine-tuning work needed to be done, things we forgot, etc., They always made our home a priority, even though he was no longer getting paid for their efforts.
I could go on for days about MR. I have friends who say they will never build another house after their experience building one. I can say without hesitation that should we ever build another home, I would not hesitate to use Murphy Resources again. It is not by accident they have been successfully building homes for close to thirty years.
While I know that no one can please everyone all the time, I would challenge anyone to find a builder with a higher percentage of satisfied cllients that Murphy Resources. You can walk into one of their homes that was built ten or fifteen years ago and it will still be in better shape than most homes are after just a couple of years. For the largest and most important investment most of us will ever make, I can think of no one better suited to build your dream home than Murphy Resources.
